BridgeYear was founded by Victoria Chen and Victoria Doan--two former college counselors from Sharpstown High School in Houston, TX.

Chen & Doan noticed a PROBLEM: ​Many of their students were unmotivated by traditional college programs, unclear about their career prospects, and unsuccessful at transitioning from high school into pathways for economic mobility.

They also noticed an OPPORTUNITY:

Houston is a city with high demand for skilled labor. Many of the jobs are in growing fields with high-paying entry salaries for people with a Certificate or Associates degree.

BridgeYear seeks to be a SOLUTION:

BridgeYear provides high school students with opportunities to explore high-demand technical jobs, clear pathways to local community colleges, and ongoing support.
